Does classic hard rock become obnoxious to people once they get in their 50's and 60's?

Bands like Van Halen, Motley Crue, Ratt, 70's era Aerosmith, and stuff
like this, does it come off as obnoxious to alot of people once they
get "older" and reach their 50's and 60's? I for one love these bands.
But it seems that everytime I go into a bar that has people in their
50's and 60's, that crowd doesn't want this type of music. And if its
played, the bartender always says that it has to be at a certain
volume level that isn't too loud. If you go to a party hosted by
people in their 50's and 60's and even late 40's, who have people
coming over, you will very rarely ever hear them crank out some Crue
or Van Halen at a good volume level and rock out. I dont understand
why it is that way, so please explain.
