Comic-Con 2011: Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart on Breaking Dawn

Total Film braved the Comic-Con craziness earlier today for a chat with the cast of _Breaking Dawn_ - the two-part closer of the enormously successful _Twilight_ series. While the dedicated fans (some of whom have been camping out since Sunday) waited for the official panel, we caught up with Bella and Edward, aka stars Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, to find out more about the final installment. "It's a really sincere telling of the story," explained Stewart, a self-proclaimed fan of Stephenie Meyer's novels. "But there are a few surprises that even surprised me, too." Not that filming was easy, with the fans' insatiable thirst for knowledge causing cast and crew no end of hassle. "It was insane, like Secret Service-style," Stewart said of shooting Bella and Edward's pivotal wedding sequence. "The crew was completely inconvenienced. Everyone was grumbling around the set - no cell phones, no email. But the [on-set assistant] was like, "You don't understand - if this wedding dress goes on the internet I'll die!" Pattinson said his favourite scene was the gruesome birth of Bella and Edward's sprog, Renesmee, which involved an animatronic baby he descibed as "like Chucky from _Child's Play_". "The birth scene is so different to everything else in the movie and for a fantasy movie with kind of a young-ish audience it actually goes quite far," he enthused. "It's quite hardcore, quite graphic - but it was fun!" Meanwhile, newbie series director Bill Condon (_Dreamgirls_, _Gods  Monsters_) mused on the future of the _Twilight_ cash-cow. "It's the end of the Bella/Edward story, I think," he said. "But especially in _Part 2_, there are so many new characters that I suspect Stephanie will want to revisit them at some point." So, could the series carry on after _Breaking Dawn_? "What, like _Breakfast Time_ or something?" deadpanned Pattinson. "Or _Brunch_? I don't know, it's really up to Stephenie..." _The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1_ opens on 18 November.
